Travelling to Ghent (Sint-Pieters)

The main railway station in Ghent is called Gent Sint-Pieters. It is at 20 minutes walking distance from the congress venue, campus Kantienberg.

From Brussels National Airport there is a direct train connection (floor -1) to Brussels and to Gent Sint-Pieters. Ticket price Brussels National Airport-Ghent: € 14,40 (including € 4,44 Airport Diabolo tax). Frequency: about 3 trains/hour, some direct, some with one change in Brussels. Travel time: 1 hour.

Coming by Thalys or Eurostar in Brussels-South (Bruxelles Midi), the direct train to Ghent takes 31 minutes and costs € 8,70.

Go Pass and Rail Pass

If you are travelling with more persons and/or are planning several (longer) journeys by train in Belgium, you can think about buying a Go Pass or a Rail Pass. Both passes can be used by several persons travelling together.

Travelling by car or coach

Ghent is located on the intersection of two major European motorways: the E17 connects Northern Europe to the South, and the E40 runs from the North Sea right across to Eastern Europe.

From the E17 you take the ‘Ghent Centrum’ turnoff.

On the E40, from the motorway intersection in Zwijnaarde you first follow ‘Antwerpen’ (E17) and then take the ‘Ghent Centrum’ turnoff (B401).

The congress venue campus Kantienberg is very close to the E17 Ghent Centrum exit. At the end of the B401 fly over go left at the first traffic lights. Go again left at the next traffic lights (100 m) and take the first street to the right (François Benardstraat). Follow straight ahead and at about 200 m you will find the campus Kantienberg to your left.

Parking

At 2 minutes walk from the congress venue, you can use the underground parking Sint-Pietersplein (P10). The tariff for the whole day is € 10,00 and starts with € 1,50 for one hour. Parking in the streets around the congress venue is also paying.

Fixed tariff € 8,50 per taxi for transport within 3 km. Almost all hotels in the city center are within the 3 km area from the congress venue. Extra km: € 2,20 / km.

Night tariff from 22.00 PM to 6 AM: addition of 2,50 EUR per ride.

Possibility to hire minibus for small groups.

Taxi Ghent to Brussels Airport: € 105,00 EUR (day and night tariff).
